Google Gemini is a Google desktop app that brings Gemini directly to your PC with the aim of helping you while you work with other apps. You will be able to ask questions, verify information, write texts, develop ideas, and use different artificial intelligence tools without having to stop what you're doing. It also gives you the ability to connect with Google apps to find information and work with it from your device.
Access Gemini at any time
One of the main advantages of this version for Windows is the keyboard shortcut. By pressing Alt + Space, you can open Google Gemini whenever you want and use it alongside whatever app you're currently working with. Like this, you can ask a question, check a fact, or ask for help writing text or developing an idea, then immediately return to what you were doing. This shortcut can also be customized from the app's settings.
Work with your Google apps
Google Gemini can connect with the Google services you use regularly, such as Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, and Calendar. This allows you to ask it to search for information in your emails, summarize shared documents, or compare information from different sources, avoiding the need to constantly switch between apps to find the data you need.
Generate creative content or manage information
The app also allows you to complete tasks that require more than just a quick response. Google Gemini includes Gemini Spark as an artificial intelligence agent dedicated to researching, planning, and synthesizing information. Thanks to this, you can use Google Gemini to organize information and advance through processes that require multiple steps, in addition to the usual queries. On the other hand, you will also be able to use Nano Banana to generate personalized images and access other creative tools, as well as Gemini Omni for video creation, although the availability of certain features depends on your system, account, and AI plan.
My thoughts after trying Google Gemini
This client is like using Gemini from a browser, but much more convenient, because it's right there, close at hand, without you having to constantly access your browser. Simply press Alt + Space and it will appear, so you can ask it for help without interrupting what you're doing. Something that I found very useful when testing the app was connecting it to my Gmail, Drive, Docs, and Calendar, so I could ask it to search for things in my emails, pull from a document, or help me organize information without jumping from one app to another.
The best and worst of Google Gemini
• What I like most is that you can connect it to other Google services to work with its entire ecosystem.
• What I like least is that some features are only available with the paid version.
Download Google Gemini for free to enjoy this Google artificial intelligence assistant directly on your PC; check information, write texts, do research, work with your Google apps, and create content without leaving your workflow.
